IMP Commander

IMP Commander Early Access

Explore with IMP

IMP Commander is a dual-pane file manager built in Rust for people who live in their files. It opens instantly, lists a hundred thousand files without blinking, and quietly keeps an eye on your disk, your downloads and your Git repositories.

Instant

First frame under 300 ms and 100k-item folders listed in under 150 ms. Nothing blocks the UI.

Two panes, many tabs

Split center view with docked side panels. Every area holds tabs of any kind, from files to Git to AI chat.

Knows where your space went

Continuous, low-overhead disk monitoring shows what grew in the last day or week.

Private AI

The assistant sees file names and metadata, never file contents. Analysis runs locally.

Our codex

Your files, your rules.

IMP Commander works with your files, so it keeps a set of rules, always. These are the main ones.

Nothing happens without your yes

The assistant only suggests. You see every rename, move or deletion beforehand and confirm it yourself.

What is inside your files goes nowhere

The assistant sees names, sizes and dates. It never sees what is inside documents, photos or spreadsheets, and none of it leaves your computer.

Your name leaves the paths

Windows puts your user name in nearly every path. The assistant gets a neutral stand-in instead, and you still see the real path.

No dangerous moves, even when asked

Deleting Windows, your whole profile or a whole cloud folder cannot be done through the assistant. The safeguard lives in the program itself.

What you delete can come back

Deletions go to the Recycle Bin and Ctrl+Z takes the last steps back. Phones and flash drives get a bin of our own for 30 days.

The app collects nothing about you

No tracking and no usage statistics. The app has no server of its own to send anything about you to.
